What is a habit and what’s the big deal about forming healthy one’s? Well a habit can be either positive or negative and basically it is “an acquired behavior pattern regularly followed until it has become almost involuntary". Everyone knows someone who has some bad habits and we are ourselves have some bad habits...nail biting...smoking....gossipping, etc...and healthy habits....flossing regularly....exercising regularly...having genuine happiness for others, and more...habits are formed from doing them repetatively....so just as we/you can form a bad habit....a HEALTHY habit can also be formed!
So if we want our hair to be healthy and well maintained, we have to form a healthy habit of caring for our crown and glory, right? It is said by some that it only takes 21 days for a person to form a habit others say it takes 30, either way forming a healthy hair habit provides a much higher chance of having a healthy, well maintained, full, and long (if length is what you want) head of hair. Basically, forming habits….forming HEALTHY habits is good for you and your hair.
To get started you can try this routine for the next 21 days:
1. Wash and deep condition weekly (Friday or Saturday)
2. Co-wash every 2 to 3 days….at least, more if you see build up.
3. Twist your hair each night before sleeping (big twists…nothing fancy). If you have shorter hair….you can just rock that TWA.
4. Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize…invest in a refresh spray, or make your own (my latest: distilled water, patchouli, tea tree, peppermint and jojoba oils, vitamin E, and glycerin….love this combination…so does my hair).
Just 4 steps to maintain for 21 days and you are well on your way to HEALTHY HAIR HABITS!
Please share your HEALTHY HAIR HABITS with the rest of us....
